Wonderland Day Nursery and its employees (including volunteers, placements and any
other type of carer) will always strive to maintain ‘best practice’ within the setting.
The care of children is a weighty responsibility that is rightly controlled and managed
through various acts and regulation. Many of these laws and regulations require the day
nursery to produce and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance. In
addition, Wonderland recognises that some processes and methods of work require a
distinct set of rules to assist its employees in fulfilling some vital functions within the
bounds of regulation.
Therefore the nursery has produced a set of policies and procedures which are in this
folder to act as a ready reference for employees and parents alike.
In formulating the policies the following legislation has been used as reference:
The Children Act 2004
The Childcare Act 2006
The Childcare Act 2016
The Equality Act 2010
