Pre-school

The pre-school is based in a large room within the building and has direct access to a garden area via a physical play indoor room. The room is set up to encourage independance and free choice of activities for the children, with areas for role play, construction, creative activities and many others to cover all areas of learning within the EYFS.

Staff observe the children at play, following their interests to enhance and extend the children's learning by sensitvely providing teachable moments whilst allowing the children time to explore and 'have a go'.

Your child will be part of a key group with a named key person whose role is to support you and your child through their transition into the setting and onto

school, observe and assess your childs learning and encourage learning and development through exciting experiences planned to meet their needs.

Pre-school learning supports the seven areas of learning and development as set out in the EYFS, which are as follows:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication and Language Development
  • Physical Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design
